@$#&@^^^!&&^@%!&*&()&@!!!!!!

WHAT THE SHIT!?!?!
WHERE IS MY BRAIN?!?
MY WONDERFUL "ELEPHANT MEMORY"?!?
THE MEMORY I GOT FROM MY GRANDMA?!?

It is NOT here with me... that is FOR.SURE!
Today the phone rings...(its the hubbs. We will put his part in blue)

"Hello"
"I have a dumb question"! (as he is driving down the road... remember this part)
"How dumb"?!? (Not that it matters)
"Did you renew my tag"? (silence FILLS the phone line)
(remember the "remember this" part??... yeah, hes driving down the road with an expired tag)
"*^#*!^%$#!#$%^&* ... I will do it RIGHT NOW"
"just don't drive in front of any officers... we can't afford a ticket" JUST SAYIN!

OH WHERE, OH WHERE HAS MY MEMORY GONE>>> OH WHERE, OH WHERE CAN IT BEEEE? (sang to the tune of... Oh Where Oh Where has My Little Dog Gone)

No SERIOUSLY! I have lost it this week.

Proof is in the pudding baby!!

On Tuesday I needed to run out and find some hard to come by school supplies for AGP. Wally-World and Target were OUT OUT OUT!!!
So Justin and I hop in the car and the hunt is on... we get to store #1 "can I have this Hershey bar?"
"Yes, go ahead... but that is IT!". Get to the car... no meter.

WHAT!! NO METER. UGH! I hope your numbers are spot on!!! I bolused for the candy and crossed my fingers.

Friday night... "Let's go to Buffalo Wild Wings". "Sounds good"!
Hop in the car... sit down... order drinks.

OMG!!!!!!

I forgot the freaking meter AGAIN!!!!!

One more time... cross fingers... bolus for food... HOPE bg is good.

Did Justin survive??? Well of course he did silly!!! But that doesn't make me feel like any less of a suckity mom.

Thank goodness for my Pancreatic Sistas... because I know I am not alone. Right Tracy??

You are never alone...and you are NOT "SUCKITY" (nice word btw). Let me know where you find your memory, maybe mine is hanging out with it. Mine has been missing for a few months.

I think all of our memories have taken a vacation to Hawaii or someplace fabulous and left us all behind! I totally know that feeling of panic as you search through everything, hoping the meter is just hiding and not forgotten! You're definitely not "suckity". Just filled to the brim with all of the things that must be remembered!

Oh yeah, I can relate. I have glucose tabs and extra meters stashed various places-- cars, every purse, coat pocket, etc. because I have done this, too.

This is also why my co-workers are treated to the sound of numerous alarms (various songs) going off on my Blackberry during the days I work. Alarms for things like extra blood sugar checks and time to walk to the bus stop--- alarms meant for days when I am at home, not at work. (I work a varied schedule and sometimes forget to turn them off.) And they laugh that I need alarms for these things... but seriously, those alarms are a HUGE help to my already fried brain.

Oh Dear Pancreatic Sister...you KNOW you are not alone! I went through a 3 month period where I was convinced I was losing my mind. I couldn't remember anything. I'm not kidding, it was scary. But I survived. Somehow, whe always survive.

I'm glad I wasn't drinking anything when I read "suckity". LOL

I keep a small, spare meter pack in my purse. It eats up a lot of room, but I can deal with that better than not knowing the #s.

I love you, Lora! DNQ, of course! You are suckity. We've all been there! Just the other night I opened the test strip container and found.... NOTHING. NO strips. Crap. Well, what's a D Mama to do? Bolus and Pray! B and P! You are a rockin' lady - don't forget it!

Nope - SO not alone!!! All of us D Mommas have done it at one point or another. And we all feel like schmucks afterward... but you know, we are ONLY human. And imperfect pancrei at that. =)
BTW - LOVED the conversation between you and the hubbs... I have had almost the EXACT same converstion with mine!!!
